So many blessings

Today I'm grateful for best friends, Christmas music, and guitar.

Do you know what I've realized? Finding the rays of sunshine in your life is a lot harder when you don't feel good, or when it feels like everything is going wrong. But also, it makes a big difference when you can find all the things you are blessed with, when your going through a hard time.

Like today for example. I'm sick and I don't feel good at all. I've been in my bed since 11:30am yesterday. But I decided to update my blog because I haven't for a few days. So as i try to think of something happy and uplifting to write about, I find it so hard! But now as I've gotten started, I'm realizing everything that i have to be grateful for today. I like making lists of those things, so that i can remember them next time I'm having a hard time.

Things I'm Grateful for:

  • My beautiful Mom
  • My awesome Dad
  • Jess, for being such a good example to me
  • School, even though sometimes i hate it, i know it will be worth it eventually
  • Ashton, for setting such a good example for my brothers and I
  • The scriptures
  • Music, especially Christmas music right now, making me so excited for the Christmas season!
  • My young women's leaders. They teach me so much and have made such a big impact in my life
  • My job
  • Hope Bell, who always know how to make me feel better
  • Smiling, I've realized that a simple smile can do alot of good
  • Church Dances (cause there is one tonight :D )
  • Thanksgiving

Amazing.

A day of inspiration

Wow. Today has been one of my favorite days ever at my school. We are starting this thing called Rachel's Challenge, and it's about one of the girls who died in the columbine shooting and what she wanted to change in the world. She challenged people to basically make kindness cool. She wanted people to reach out to others and be yourself and do whats right. We had this AMAZING assembly that really put things into perspective for me, and I would bet a lot of kids at our school. And because I'm in link crew, i went to this training about it after school. We learned about how we can make a difference at our school and how to make it keep going, even after people forget about it. I really feel like our school can do this! I know that if we do, we can make such a big difference in so many people's lives! I will admit, when I first came into this, I was very skeptical about whether our school would actually do it. But today at our assembly, I felt this overwhelming feeling that everyone was REALLY listening to this, and that they wanted to do it! So to anyone at my school who is reading this, I want to challenge you to really take this challenge into consideration. When you think about how you could positively change someone's life, I hope you are motivated to do this. Even if its as small as opening a door for someone, or just smiling at someone who looks like they are having a hard time, or learning someone's name and making it a point to go out of your way to welcome them. It's days like these that really put my daily actions into perspective. As I think of times when I excluded someone just because everyone else was, or when I didn't bother to get to know someone just because they were different than me. I feel so motivated to make a change in my life. To stop thinking about myself and actually consider others. So I'm going to do it! Everyone who reads this can hold me to it, because I honestly believe it will improve lives for the better.

Sunday is the best

Today I'm grateful for church, friends who are such good examples to me, and that Christmas is almost here!

Well, today has been absolutely awesome! Actually this whole month has been so great. Today at church there were so many times that I felt the spirit so strongly! In Sunday school, we learned about the temple, and we also had out activity last Wednesday on the temple. After all that, I makes we want to go to the temple so bad! And it also is an good motivator to keep living the way I am so that some day I will be worthy to go in and get sealed to whoever I end up marrying! Going to church every week always just makes me so thankful that I have the gospel in my life. oh PS, this is my Mormon.org profile! Check it out! http://mormon.org/me/5RSD/

Last night, I hung out with Hope (as always) and I just love how we can just talk about anything together! We hung out with some of our other friends too, and it was just a really good night!

This week is probably going to go by SUPER slow... but hopefully not!! I'm just trying to keep my grades up before the end of the semester and let me tell you.. I'm very stressed out! But luckily I have family and friends  who can distract me from all that stuff. Actually.. I should be wring an essay right now. My biggest distraction lately has been the guitar.. haha I always sit down in my room to do my homework, but somehow end up playing the guitar and not getting my homework done! I should probably do something about that...

Well anyways...Sundays are my favorite! :)

Starting something new

So.. I've decided to start a blog! There are a lot of reasons of why i want to do this actually! First off, because i want to journal but writing takes to long! haha but also because i want to be able to show people about me and my life and why i am the way i am! So basically this blog is going to be about my everyday life! :) I'm honestly really excited to start something new!
